anyway, this type can be converted to and from most other types (integers, dates, doubles, strings, etc) with no loss in most

- Hi,
We have a rather large VB.NET project which we are trying to make the classes interopable from VB6. We put the COMClass attribute to each class we want to expose through COM, and turn the "Register for COM interop"on. As soon as we did this, it took a longgggg time to build the project. We think it is because now every time we build, VS2005 unregisters every classes we are exp

How can we lock Texbox,Combobox,Checkbox from editing Setting Readonly to Texboxes makes it's backcolor grayed. combo.enabled =false or txtbox.enabled = false changes its backcolor to gray. I want the back color or forecolor not to be changed when we lock the controls.
Thanks in advance

I am attemping to write a routine that when the user presses a button it will read from a datagrid that they have already populated and add rows to other datagridviews. They may then modify what was added or add more rows. then when they have what they want in all the datagridviews they will save.
Entering stuff by hand works for all dgv's.
All dgv's are bound to binding sources. t

- I have been playing with a FileSystemWatcher, to start processing files as soon as one arrives in a folder. Specifically, I'm looking for a zip file, then unzip it.
However, when I try to unzip a file as soon as I get the Created event, the file has often not finished being written, and therefore I get an error when I try to unzip it. This time period is very short, a tight loop without pauses

- I understand the ActiveX COM multi-use instancing in VB6 (ActiveX exe instancing = 5-Multiuse) did not carry forward to VB .NET / VB 2005, but I *REALLY* need it. It must be reasonably common for some applications to be built this way. The way we use it is to have a background exe running without a user interface and multiple applications connect to it, get/set properties and methods, sharing the
