- Hi all, it has been a very long time since I've coded on Windows... I think I am doing something wrong, ... basically, what I want to do is to create a non-primary DirectDraw surface which uses a pre-allocated (e.g. with malloc) system memory, the surface must also hold planar yuv image data (e.g. FOURCC YV12)... but it would appear that, whilst I can create YUV12 without specifying the DDSD_LPSUR

What happens is, as I'm yawing, the camera seems to be rolling in the direction of the yaw on its own. - Thought people might be interested to know, that i've successfully ran Managed C++ code compiled with /clr:safe on the 360. I'm not completely sure there aren't any corner cases where an invalid IL opcode will be generated but so far I haven't been able to do it. I'm writing a hardware skinning library and am having some trouble with verts. My skinned models are loaded in with the following vertex declaration-
Float3 Position
Float3 Normal
Float2 TexCoord
byte4 BlendIndices
Float4 BlendWeights
However, my Matrix Palette shader is expecting the BlendIndices to be a Float4 as well ( and I dont think you can have byte or char typ

- I was surprised to find out that XNA doesn't work in Internet Explorer as a WinForm Control. I know I must be smoking crack, but somewhere a long the line I got the impression that XNA would enable a 3D environment in Internet Explorer. If we can put Ink on the Web, http://www.code-magazine.com/Article.aspx quickid=0512062 , then I think we should be able to put a 3D environment on the web as well

- I'm porting a MDX project to XNA, and have found a problem. In MDX, when drawing using a multi-pass technique, the scene first is drawn using the first pass, then using the second pass and so on. In XNA, I have the impression that first, the first object is drawn using pass1, pass2, etc. When the first object has been drawn, the second object is drawn.

- Does the FBX content importer support nurbs models I exported a simple sphere in Maya 8 as sphere.fbx, but the content importer throws an exception when it tries to build the asset: I saw a reference to a function trying to import animations, however the object isn't animated at all... - Hello there. I'm working with XACT in conjunction with a pool of programmers on a project. I 'm having problems limiting the instances of a sound. The limiting actually works, but when I demo the game in Windows, there is quite an obvious slowdown, runing the pace of the game. When I remove the limiting, the game runs fine. According to the rest of the team, it runs fine on the XBox but I'm strug
