- Hi everyone, I'm just starting with XNA GSE and working on my first game. One thing that is puzzling me though is the LoadGraphicsContent. It seems in all the tutorials I've seen that everyone loads every single graphics resource inside this one function. This seems wrong to me for two reasons, the first is that surely this isn't the most memory friendly way of doing things. What if I have ten le

- I was wondering if anyone out there has written a level editor for their XNA game If so, how did you write it and did you use XNA to write it I am mostly interested in 3D games.
I am trying to decide whether I should create the level in a modeling program and inport that for the enviroment, but this seems like it would be far to resource consuming.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. :

- Hello XNA community, I am currently working on a level editor that renders in 3D for a 2D game (think New Super Mario Bros). I am using DrawIndexedPrimitives with 24 vertices to draw cubes, wedges, and other simple shapes that make up individual tiles in the game. When I use a similar technique to draw a 2D sprite in 3D space (let's say, a PNG file with transparent space in some areas of the file)

I'm having my animation class inherit from game component, and

It occurs to me that much of the ai code only needs to run every once in a while an

I know I must be smoking crack, but somewhere a long the line I got the impression that XNA would enable a 3D environment in Internet Explorer. If we can put Ink on the Web, http://www.code-magazine.com/Article.aspx quickid=0512062 , then I think we should be able to put a 3D environment on the web as well

I've always figured that the professional game devs use unmanaged C++, but is that changing now with the a

Or do I just create a new ContentManager for each GameComponents that I have Won't that occupies more me

GDI+ to display large image with zoom and scrollbars works great but is slow.
Do you think XNA (and DirectX) can be use to achieve this faster
Is see some difficult points (I discover XNA)
- Add scroolbars to a window
- Have two or more window
- Convert my own in memory image format to XNA image format
What do you think

- Using an array in a vertex shader

- My understanding is that a vertex shader works on a single vertex at a time. If that's the case, I'm confused about how to call a shader using values that are in an array. Say I have a mesh of ten vertices, and I have a an array of 40 vector3's. Each index in this array contains a unique vector value and corresponds to a vertex in the mesh, so, the array represents four frames of data that I want

One option would be to just get a new PC, but for a student that's not exactly cheap, and I might not want to get a new one anyways before Vista comes out. One thing I heard might be a problem is profiling my

And I realize if it was provided there would be many security considerations to keep ill thoughts at bay.
But, does microsoft plan to add limited networking to introduce online XNA gaming possibilities
Maybe through a strict set of web services
I know XNA is new, but XNA would be limitless if we could rent server space from micros
