- What is the best/easiest way to lock down a branch to prevent further checkins
We have a branch that potentially has permissions throughout the tree for various things.
What is the easiest/best way to lock the whole branch so no one can checkin (except perhaps an ocassional authorized user on a per instance case)

- I don't understand why the Visual Studio installer is so painfully slow. Is Microsoft ever going to improve this Why can't they just have a drag and drop installation like Apple does. I thought Microsoft was moving away from using the Registry. Installation should be as simple as copying some files. Instead, it takes hours to install, uninstall, or change a few components.
