The paging that is already available in a datagrid, gridview in asp.net is slow since it has to pull all the data down from the server in one go and page those results. In my example I pull down only the data the user needs. If you need to page your SQL 2005 data in ASP.net 2.0 have a look here. Works with win form applications as well...
