A friend and I wrote a game under VC6: http://nahelworks.free.fr/ .
After a 2-years long break, we decided to restart programming. So, we got VS2005 (for students) and the DX SDK from August 2007. For my friend, with few updates, it works perfectly.
Not for me. First, I had to remove the whole sound system because dshow.h is no longer present in the SDK. Finally, it com

For instance _wfopen("foo.txt", "arb"); I would expect it to fail gracefully, but it it seems to simply terminate the process. Is this a bug in fopen or a designed behaviour The reason I can get an illegal mode is because I'm using user input to construct the call, and I hoped I wouldn't have to add too m
