- Hi,
I'm new to Analysis Services. I just wanna ask if it can function like a listbox with different attributes relating to a dimension and I can filter it the same as AS has for filters. Let say:
Customer No Account No Date Valid Fr Date Valid To Active
001 111 04/05/2007 05/05/2008 Yes
002 222 06/05/

- The just released SP1 version of SQL Server Express has a file name of sqlexpr.exe. The previous setup file was named sqlexpr32.exe. Why would Microsoft change the file name
Anyway, the file name change obviously breaks the file name that is coded in the bootstrapper package.xml file. Also, the link address will need to change (I suppose Microsoft couldn't just put a new version at the same li

Last week I was receiving an error when trying to connect to two of our seven sql servers from my laptop via my domain admin account. The only fix was to have my laptop rebuilt and everything re-installed.
Today however another administrator is starting to have the same problem but to only one of the seven servers!
When that administrator uses my laptop with her domain admin ac

- I have a simple data flow where I am trying to import data from an xml file into a SQL Server table. I have an xsd that seems to work because the XML Source can pick up all the elements in the xml file. The problem is that the process executes successfully without any rows being imported. The xml file has lots of data. But no messages or warnings are given to suggest why no rows are being written

- Routinely when I use BIDS to work on a report design, I cannot close BIDS because I get a message box that says:
Microsoft Visual Studio cannot shut down because a modal dialog is active. Close the active dialog and try again.
Of course, there is no visible dialog open. I actually have to terminate the process from task manager.
I do not get this problem when using SSIS or SSAS. Only

Does anyone know if BIDS always uses collectionitem(o) from the enumeration or is it possible to handl

- Hi all,
I have a couple of reports with predefined queries. When I try to edit a data set query it goes directly to query design mode losing the query I already had. As you can see this is a real problem because I can't edit queries. How can I switch off design mode any ideas are pretty much appreciated.
Cheers

I have written ETL software that runs on SQL Server. We are running it for the first time on a 4cpu (2 x dual core) machine on sql server 2005.
One of the things this software does is perform a 'select * from tablename' to validate that the tables passed to it as parameters exist. This has worked fine on previous releases and on single cpu machines because what the optimiser deci

Does ReportItem behave differently when rendered between excel and PDF Or is it because I am putting a SUM on a ReportIte

My first assumption was I could create 3 different configuration files (XML) with the connection string properties for each environment. Because I use shared

- Hello!
I inherited a cube from another developer. After working though it for awhile and fixing broken views etc, I am able to get the cube to deploy and process. However, the cube appears to be empty. I can retrieve no data from it at all.
In Dev Studio, I can drill through the data source to see that the tables and views are actually populated, but nothing appears inside the cube.

1. bigint from the query into int64 SSIS variable doesn't work at all. It fails.
2. bigint from the query into string
