- I have a large document archive consisting of scanned files in TIF format, where all text has been OCR-ed. With Windows XP I was using the Windows Desktop Search ver. 2.6 that was neatly handling the OCR-ed text. After updating to Vista, that is no longer the case, in spite of my having selected "index properties and file contents" option for TIF files. Is there a way I can get this to w

- When attempting to web-install SDK 6.0.6000.16384, it asked me to remove SDK 6.0.5536.0 and a few other related components (the same as the ones listed below I believe) using the "add/remove program" tool. Only the SDK itself was visible in the add/remove program tool, but I assumed removing it would remove the others, so I tried to remove it. It didn't complete correctly, rather the &qu

This application also sends messages to other applications so the requirement is to set the security attribute "uiAccess=ture" in the manifest file. I experienced a long delay, well, loading other applications before my app gets its turn. If I remove this setting, whic

- I am using the Video for Windows (VFW) API to create AVI files. My code works fine on XP Pro SP2 and Windows 2000. However, the same code running on Vista creates the AVI files with bad headers. The corruption begins after the video and audio stream format headers starting at the JUNK chunk. Example:
