We have the following in an XSD from a partners web service we have added

- I am just getting started with threading and taking baby steps by using the BackgroundWorker control. I have read that Windows Controls and Forms are only accessible on the thread they are created on.
Well that being the case, why doesn't this work
1) Create a Windows Forms project
2) Add a second form called frmThreadProgress
2) Create an additional class in the project

- Hi All,
I have a table in SQL 2000 that has a number of decimal values I add up.
I created a stored procedure to output the result as Decimal and this works fine.
I then created a function to return the answer as Decimal on the web service and it still works fine.
I then got my windows form to access the function on the web service but the result is rounded off.

- I'm not sure where to post this as it relates to issues with T-SQL, ADO.Net & VB.Net. So, here goes.
I want to use the varchar(max) datatype to store large ASCII files for batch processing and archival purposes, as opposed to network storage as it contains personally identifiable information.
So I created this table:
CREATE TABLE [dbo].[submission_files_table]( [fice_code]

- I have the automatic update feature on my desktop system. I cannot get rid of a 'critical update' from Microsoft. It is an update to .NET Framework version 1.1 SP 1 KB928366. I've clicked through to install the update, the update reads DONE! (how nice) and I've restarted the computer - multiple times. The critical update keeps coming up. I use ACT! 2007 and I know that uses .NET so I don't want to

I implemented callback in mixed mode the following way and it works fine but I wonder if this is the right way to do it. In particular, is this 100% safe I mean could there be some obscure GC/CLR "event" that would make it crash at some point, for instance should not I be using pin pointers
It works this way: a delegate is declared in C# and used as argument to the setCallBack()

I need to parse a string which is in the following format (example): -0.0004 USD/Tonnes
Basically, it will be a double value, might be preceded by the negative (-) sign
and followed by <Currency>/<Unit of Measure> .
The result should be just the double value (with the sign if its there), as in the above example, it should translate to -0.0004
