Alex Feldstein

That's strange.

Make sure you do:

SET BELL OFF

SET CONFIRM OFF

in the current session (e.g. in the Load() method of a form) to see if it has any effect.

You may try:

SET BELL TO SILENCE.WAV

where SILENCE.WAV is a sound file with no sound recorded...

It is strange that even the Form.Load() with

SET BELL OFF
SET CONFIRM OFF
*SET BELL TO "D:\SNDREC.WAV"

The prompt sound still exists.

In command window just put SET BELL OFF and type CHR(7). If you still hear

sound it means is something wrong ...

Re: Set bell off

I think it should be the program problem.

As using set bell off and type chr(7), no alert sound heard.

I check over the programs and do not found any command like "set bell on ".

I place messagebox() to debug at the first form, I still hear prompt sound when the "confirm" key of the messagebox is pressed...

May be the worst case, I need to rebuild all the form.

You may try to put set bell off in load or init method of form.
