Is there anyway to control the printing on reports when in preview mode so that you can print a selection of pages instead of all pages When I hit the print button it doesn't give me any printer options, it just prints.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I'm not sure about VFP 6.0. But in VFP 9.0 it can be achieved by "OnPreviewClose Method" . (check for a example in Foxhelp)

Best regards,

Markish

I've been tempted to move up to VP9 but I'm hearing that it's not long lived and I would hate to make the move only to redo it all over again.

Thanks for your help

report form myReport to printer prompt preview

would give you the Printer dialog where you can specify pages.

UPDATE. I didn't pay attention to your comment originally, but I re-read your question and I agree with Tamar. You should definitely try to make a move and VFP9 is the best and unfortunately the last VFP version. SP2 is expected very soon.

I'm not sure what you've been hearing, but the move from VFP 6 to VFP 9 isn't that hard. VFP is incredibly backward compatible.

As for long-lived, I think VFP 9 may turn out to be the longest-lived of all, since there won't be a VFP 10.

works like a charm!

and with respect to VFP9 does it have a lifetime or will it be replaced with something that will require a complete rewrite Does anyone know

You're welcome.

There were lots of discussions on UniversalThread in March and April when it was announced that VFP9 is going to be the last version. Basically, VFP9 is going to be supported till 2015.

You can make a decision for yourself which route/language you want to go.
