I am wondering if a statement can be construed which will do DELETE (record) & PACK on the same command line. If it is possible I would prefer to run just one command from .NET rather than two.

Thanks.

Yep, I did. Another albatros around your neckSmile

My neck is still ok, but you question was again incomplete...to delete all or some records, so again the answer is good for a general question..

To ZAP a table I can do without posting in this forum. Does not take much of Marcia's training to do that.

And your answer is precisely BAD for a GENERAL question. It may be good for a special question: how to delete ALL records.

You may try to do it through EXECSCRIPT (this techinique was discussed here before in http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx PostID=1772231&SiteID=1).

Thank you Naomi, it is very helpful. It is the answer I've been looking for. It seems I can use both commands in one ExecuteNonQuery call.

I could not figure out why that fellow did not use the ZAP command at the very beginning. How could he delete without packing But this is beyond the scope of this post anyhow.

Thanks.

P.S. You will get a high mark not because of your gender, no allowance for that, but for the fact that you've offered a real help. And not the first time too.
