I have a question regarding the settings necessary for the CRM 3.0 Outlook client to be installed. I have the CRM and Exchange on seperate servers & networks, both running SBS 2003. I have the CRM server setup as localhost in my office, and Exchange is hosted off-site. Whenever I open outlook I am getting errors saying:

"Your Web browser options are currently set to disable cookies. Microsoft CRM requires cookies to use the Web client. To enable cookies, see the online Help for your browser"

"An error occurred loading Microsoft CRM functionality. Try restarting Microsoft Outlook. Contact your system administrator if errors persist."

I have allowed all cookies in IE 7, and still get the first error. When I install the CRM Outlook client (I've tried laptop and desktop versions), it does not ask me for login information. Do CRM and Exchange have to be on the same network using the same Active Directory Does CRM assume that it will be using the same login information as used for exchange

Per the support engineer:

Do CRM and Exchange have to be on the same network using the same Active Directory Yes, absolutely. They have to be under the same Domain Controller and in the same Active Directory Structure.

Does CRM assume that it will be using the same login information as used for exchange Yes again.

Here is some additional information from the engineer:

Small Business Server is a specialized operating system version that bundles Windows Server 2003, Exchange Server 2003 technology, an Microsoft Windows Sharepoint Services so they can be deployed on a single piece of hardware. Small Business Server 2003 Premium Edition also includes Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and ISA Server 2004 in the bundled software.

You must deploy Microsoft CRM with SMALL BUSINESS SERVER 2003 PREMIUM Edition, because CRM requires a SQL Server database.

I was having the same problem and all of my servers are in the same domain.

Try deleting all of your cookies in IE. This worked for me and I stopped getting the error message. I guess the cookie that CRM uses got corrupted or something and didn't clean itself up (which it is supposed to do when you exit Outlook).

Good Luck,

Kurt

Is there a hotfix or hack to get the Outlook Client to work with a CRM Service on a different domain I have looked everywhere and tried everything to no avail. I have added domain login information in managed passwords. I tried our web exposed domain and via vpn. I added the web domain and regular domain to the intranet security profile still no luck. These are the only too recommendations I have been able to find. Is there an error log for the Outlook Client that further details the error to see exactly which domain was being hit and which login failed

Hi,

I have now a new error of- 'missing pricing list'

is it because of wrong installation or we have to import such list.

Also, Product Catalog is not viewable on the CRM Server.

Do any one has some guidlines for me

Hi,

As mentioned earlier, i am getting missing pricelist error. I can not create Pricelist as product catalog is not relfecting on my CRM Server/setting screen.

I was going thro the log file of instllation and I found below mentioned message

'Product installation will be elevated because user is admin and product is being installed per-machine.'

Does this anything to do with my problem

There are 2 reasons why you may not be able to see the product catalog:

  1. Not having permissions in CRM on the porduct entity
  2. Having the CRM Outlook client running. Try closing Outlook and the web browser, then open the web browser and access CRM
