Any change that support for the ownerform argument of the Show() method as in

testForm.Show vbModeless, Me

where testForm is an interop form, will be put into the Interop Forms Toolkit

I actually need this, in particular for modeless dialogs, even more than MDI child form support (although I need that too).

Anyone know of an alternative/work-around in the mean time

TIA

Hi Rens,

Are you trying to have a VB6 Form own a .NET Form I'd recommend taking a different approach, and have your VB6 Form own a Child VB6 Form, which contains an Interop UserControl. Interop UsersControls allow you to do everything you can do with the Toolkit, but with the added bonus that they can be placed directly on a VB6 form, and thus support MDI.

You can download the template and find more information on our team blog at http://blogs.msdn.com/vbteam/archive/2006/11/02/interop-roadmap-usercontrols-mdi-and-data.aspx.

Also if you want to try out an updated version of the temlate you can contact me directly at Jonathan DOT AnejaATmicrosoftDOTCOM

Hope that helps,

Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for your quick reply.

Shortly after my posting I found out about the preliminary support for the Interop UserControl and the taught had occurred to me this might do what I want. I just did a simple test and indeed it appears to be what I need.

I most likely will contact you in the near future for trying out an updated version. For now I haven't got the time to do any further thorough testing and thus have not found any problems yet.

Any change you can give me an estimate on when a more or less final product will be available

Cheers,

Rens

Hi Rens,

We're still doing a lot of testing on it, so we're not ready to release the full version yet. I can't really give a timeframe at this point but we'll release it as soon as we feel it's ready.

Thanks,

Jonathan
