parthsaha,

Based on your post, there is error message when you build the project as "unable to find manifest signing certificate in the certificate store". In order to make your question more clear, it is necessary to provide the specific information on your project.

I would like to suggest you to take a look at the following threads with the same problem when building the project as follows since this kind of problems is quite common:

1. error MSB3323: Unable to find manifest signing certificate in the certificate store.

To solve, I went to the "Signing" tab of the project properties and unchecked "Sign the ClickOnce manifests". Good luck!

2. There is an answer provided by Patrick Baker in Microsoft Visual Basic Deployment & Designer Team: Did you also copy the certificate with the project. Should be a *.PKF or *.SNK file in the project. You can see which certificate file it assumes is their by going to the Signing Page of the Application Designer (double click "My Project" in the Solution Explorer). If you don't have the original certificate you can always create a new one and use that instead.

For further information, please see this thread: Error: Unable to find manifest signing certificate in the certificate store

Hope that can help you.

Dear Sir,

Thanks for the help. That really helped.

Only one request to make.....

Can you please provide me some details/materials on Security in VB.NET, as this problem arises due to signing the assembly

Thanks once again for your generous help.

parthsaha,

Thanks for your question and reply. According to your question on Security in VB.NET and the assembly signing, I would like to provide you the suggestions as follows:

1. .NET Framework Security

The .NET Framework and common language runtime have new features for developers who are interested in writing secure applications. In this section, learn about security as it applies to .NET. There are several articles that covers all the aspects for .NET Framework.

2. How to: Sign an Assembly with a Strong Name

The .NET Framework SDK provides several ways to sign an assembly with a strong name:

Using the Assembly Linker (Al.exe) provided by the .NET Framework SDK.

Using assembly attributes to insert the strong name information in your code. You can use either the AssemblyKeyFileAttribute or the AssemblyKeyNameAttribute, depending on where the key file to be used is located.

3. You can also read the book written by Jeffrey Richter called "Applied Microsoft .NET Framework Programming". The second book is called "CLR via C#".

Hope that can help you.
