Uncle K

I added Flash9.ocx(c:\program files\system32\macromed\flash\) to vb2005 toolbox, when I draw the "Shockwave Flash Control" to form, there comes errors:

* Could not resolve dependent COM reference "stdole, Version=7.0.3300.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a".
* Failed to create the wrapper assembly for type library "AxShockwaveFlashObjects". Exception of type 'Microsoft.Build.Tasks.ComReferenceResolutionException' was thrown.
* The referenced component 'AxShockwaveFlashObjects' could not be found. Failed to create the wrapper assembly for type library "AxShockwaveFlashObjects". Exception of type
'Microsoft.Build.Tasks.ComReferenceResolutionException' was thrown.

So I added reference to Flash9.ocx manually, but only Interop.FlashAccessibililty and Shockwave Flash generated. In VS2003, AxInterop.ShockwaveFlashObjects.dll and Interop.ShockwaveFlashObjects.dll can be seen. So I can use this
Dim axFlash As AxShockwaveFlashObjects.AxShockwaveFlash
to add a Flash AX to the form.

But in vs2005, how can I do

It could be a 64-bit issue. Try setting the Platform target to x86 in the Build tab of the .NET project properties. Does/will Flash Player 9 have a 64-bit build

I had this same problem. I cannot create 32-bit COM objects from a 64-bit .NET app. It works if I change the application type to x86...

I did that by Project -> Properties -> Compile -> Advanced Compile Options -> Target CPU -> set to x86
