Hi to all,

I'm working with WinCE OS.

I created a custom control "RectangleControl.dll" with C# language in VS2003.

I created an application "MyApp.exe" with VB language in VS2003.

The application "MyApp.exe" integrates and use the custom control "RectangleControl.dll".

If I put "MyApp.exe" and "RectangleControl.dll" in the same folder the application run correctly, but,

I'd like to put the dll in a different folder. Is this possible

Hoping to be clear, thanx in advance.

If the reason you want it to be a different directory is so that differnet apps (exe) can use the same dll, then look into installing your DLL into the GAC (global assembly cache).

Hi and thanx for answer,

the reason I want it to be a different directory is simply because I have a "customer defined" tree structure and I must put the dll in a "customer defined" directory. But only one application will use the dll.

I read the article you suggest (http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/kw5x2w30.aspx) and it was helpful but I've a big problem:

If I put a file .gac in the windows directory, when I turn off and after turn on again the power, the file .gac is deleted.

This happens because the system image is restored every time at power on.

Only the files inside the SSD (flash disk) are not deleted.

Any help

Or simply add a batch file that copy the .gac file from SSD into the windows directory at every power on

Thanx

Why does it HAVE to be in the "customer defined" directory

Hi,

OK, I spoke with customer, he agrees with put .dll files into the gac.

Now, how I'm trying to strong name my .dll Is not so simple!

I've to study!

Thanx
