I have everything basic down, such as the buttons and menustrip. So far, I have added the openfile feature and it displays your image in an image box. They are never shown up when you get the string back by class StringBuilder instance method ToString( ) .If you use the following code to add carriage return and line feed.     - Custom controls folder Hi and thanx for answer, the reason I want it to be a different directory is simply because I have a "customer defined" tree structure and I must put the dll in a "customer defined" directory. But only one application will use the dll. I read the article you suggest ( http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/kw5x2w30.aspx ) and it was helpful but I've a big problem: If I put a file .gac in the windows directory, when I turn off and after turn on again the power, the file .gac is deleted. This happens because the system image is restored every time at power on. Only the files inside the SSD (flash disk) are not deleted.     - Stacktrace tab gone Using VS05 Pro SP1... I have lost the stack trace tab that is at the bottom of the debug screen while debugging that shows you the stack strace when you hit a break point. I don't see how to make it re-appear. Any suggestions I don't see anything in the View option that would do it. I tried Marshalling the array parameter as you have suggested (the first param is a short - to match VB6 integer) it overcomes the AccessViolationException but the debug print only shows the first character of the string ( ). eg Passing in 4 strings ("Test String 1", etc) I get: T T T T Adding the <In()> attribute did not change this.     - Form in Form Creating a MDI (multiple document interface) application is one possible route. However, from the way you describe it, it sounds like you actually want those child windows to be UserControls instead of Forms. So you would add new UserControl objects to the project and design them with all the appropriate controls. Then clicking the menu items can load the specified user control and display it on the Form.     - VB2005 Issues 1. Happens when running the compiled exe. It does appear to only happen when my app is running. FYI - I do cancel the close event, do a little cleanup, and then exit the application. I have removed the sessionending event handler. 2. Good insight. The point I was trying to make was that you can get a host not found message for several reasons: a. the host name is not valid b. your connection to the DNS server is down c. the DNS server is down From looking at a lot of packet captures I can discern when it is a. It is b & c I have a problem with. It is just a shame that the OS doesn't make it obvious, especially when it knows the distinction. Ping request could not find host www.foo.com is different than Ping request could not find host www.foo.com because DNS server did not respond 4. I had a feeling that was the answer.     - How do you manage your controls if there are many many controls placed on the forms? If it is a application with lots of controls, let's say , you have 15 labels placed on a form. Logically you would name them label1, label2, label3 .... I found it hard to manage the labels and had to put them into array and declare them at run-time but in this way no controls will be shown on VS designer, the other developer who may continue to work on the project may find it hard to a understand what the UI looks like by looking at the code. I' m asking your assistance once again regarding

upgrading from VB6, this time I' m enquiring about

the use of ImageList.

I was instructed to upgrade from vb6 the following:

Case 0

Image1.Picture = LoadPicture("c:\animals\gorila.bmp")

Case 0

PictureBox1.Image = New Bitman("c:\animals\gorila.bmp")

And it works perfectly but as VB 2005 provides the ImageList

I assume that will be tydier especialy on transporting.

Based on the code I saw before you don't need to use an ImageList, but yes it will definitely make your code a bit cleaner. Here's the help topic that explains the Imagelist control: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.windows.forms.imagelist.aspx

Don't you ever sleep

I had a peek to the site you sent me and immeditelly decided

to keep my programs to my old codes. However you openned a

door for me. As I have mentioned earlier I am new at this game,

and I have just connected to the Internet.

I know now about Libraries and were to look. Already I spotted

items regarding wave files and I heading that path. In any any

case Win, Loose or Draw I am ready for the challemge.
