Brian Lagasse

I'm trying to read encrypted email using MAPI Controls 6.0, but the .MsgNoteText property comes back empty. Unencrypted emails read correctly.

I'm using VB.Net in Visual Studio 2003.

Please direct me to the proper forum if this is not the right place.

Thanks,

Brian

Brian Lagasse,

How is your encrypted email going now Can it be read or not Could you please provide some code snipppet of your application because it is hard to check the reason you cannot get the body of email with the MsgNoteText porperty.

According to your words, I would like to ptovide you some related information on the problem:

1. Using the MAPI Controls:

2. EncryptTo/DecryptTo: Encryption in .NET with CryptoAPI Certificate Stores

Hope the articles above can help you with the problem, too.

Hi Bruno,

I know it's been a long while since I addressed this issue, but I'm tasked to get this working again. I've upgraded to VS 2005 and have tried to debug the application again. In my research though, I've seen mention that Outlook 2003 has severly restricted the object model for encrypted messages. So I'm wondering if this is at all possible.

Also, I reviewed the EncryptTp/DecryptTo information, but this seems to apply to file encryption, not encrypted emails.

Thank you for your assistance.

Brian
