Hai all,

I am developing VB.NET 2005 windows application. I want that the application should be accessible across the local network (Not a Domain). I installed the application on one system and share the application folder with necessary permissions. If i run the application from the other system it shows an exceptions.

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Then I give FullTrust permission to LocalIntranet (.NET Framework Configuration). It also not working. Please anyone help me on this. I am new to .NET Development. Thanks in advance.

The error message is saying you are having a FileIOPermission error because it thinks the app is running on the internet. How are you sharing this app

The type of the first permission that failed was:
System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermission
The Zone of the assembly that failed was:
Internet

Hai Ken,

Thanks for your reply. The application is installed on one of the system in the network. It is peer-to-peer network. I share the application folder located under "Program files" and then i change permission to FullTrust for Local Intranet and Internet in Machine All_Code.

Hi Arunkumar.B,

Based on your post, after you installed the application on one system and share the application folder with necessary permissions. Then run the application from the other system it shows the above exceptions.

Do you grant the neccessary permissions in the target computer From your post I think you don't grant the permissions in the target computer. You only grant the permissions in the installed computer. You need to ensure that the assembly has the neccessary permissions to run properly in the target computer where the assembly runs. If you install either the .NET IDE, or the SDK, you can use a configuration GUI in the control panel under admin tools to configure code access security in the target computer. If you only install .NET 2.0 redist in the target computer, you need to use the caspol.exe tool to implement this. If you have any further questions, please tell me.

Best regards,

Riquel
