Typical Customer/Orders scenerio: I have a list of Customers and a list of Orders.

I have a list of Orders where each order included a required field which gets it's value as a lookup from the Customer list.

When I create a view of Orders and include the Customer, I get a hyperlink to the Customer record.

How do I show the customer without having the value be a hyperlink I've tried different permissions, tried creating a calculated field in the Customer list and linking to that, etc. but everything I do produces a link to the Customer list.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Regards,

Richard

Re: SharePoint - Design and Customization Preventing hyperlink from being displayed for a list item that is a lookup value from another list.

You can create the appropriate view via a webpart or custom field type, or even a custom display page. There is even a potential to use SharePoint Designer and the DataView webpart to generate the view you want. You will need to know XSLT to generate the appropriate view with SharePoint Designer.

Key thing is, there is no Admin UI way to generate the view you are looking for.

I had a similar problem not so long ago and I found this to just remove all the html tags. http://blog.thekid.me.uk/archive/2007/05/17/stripping-html-tags-when-using-xslt.aspx
