I think the first or second step is to define, when the Workflow has to start: a new item is created an item is changed manually After creating, you have to go to the Sharepoint list, documentbib where the workflow shall be started. I have read elsewhere that this may be a DST 2007 issue where the timer jobs are scheduled an hour off, causing delays during the middle of the backup process. Some have reported that turning off automatic DST changes and manually adjusting the system clock will fix the issue. Some (including me) are still running into the issue. Michael, I have not installed this configuration but my understanding on the mix of 64bit and 32bit was allowed as long as each Role was the same. i.e. Web Front Ends Index and Search Excel Services SQL I assume you issue may be due to running the Search service load balanced across the 64bit WFEs and having a 32bit Index server. Can you try and run the search service on the Index server (temp option as you lose resiliance) to see if this works. The arrows should not show if you don't have any links. If you do have links and you want to hide the arrows that's a different story. SO in short, yes, it can use LDAP... the longer answer would be that I do not have any personal experience using it but from the documentation, it appears feasible using the LDAP provider... Maybe there is a way to automatically display the property there but as far as I've done it, normally we derive from the ToolPart to create our own ToolPart.     - Accessing SharePoint site for the first time yields error Are you running a single machine or at least all SharePoint components on the machine. Does it have enought RAM and processor speed. I think what you are seeing is the time it takes to complile the pages to start. I have a "over-taxed" server and it will basically time out the first time I try to access a page. After the first I am ok. On my real dev machines I have no problem. wonder if upping the timeout on the web would solve the issue. You'd need a server side process (timer or document conversion process, possibly) generating thumbnails that are related to the document.     - Exception error during attempted upgrade from SharePoint 2.0 to 3.0 The current problem is that when trying to run the Configuration Wizard you get the following message. Exception of Microsoft.SharePouint.PostSetupConfiguration.PostSetupConfigurationTaskException was thrown. The current installation does not support SKU to SKU upgrades because there exists an older version of Windows Sharepoint Services that must be upgraded first. Course of events The server is Server 2003 SBS. SharePoint 2.0 was running and 3.0 was being installed which indicated that .Net 3.0 which was done. Then the Sharepoint.exe was run again which started up the installation process. The "Upgrade" selection was made which ran awhile then completed the installation, but then could not run the configuration due to the above error. We have tried to remove 3.0 but it only starts to run then just quits. A repair will go all the way through but does not allow using the wizard. Any help would be appreciated.
