Hi All,

I 'm figuring out what's the best way to setup an entity (Entity-A) for a Business Data List in a Busines Data Catalog which gets it's information form 2 different SQL databases.

I've managed to get it working by defining 2 LobSystemInstances in one Business Data Catalog XML file.

It's seems to work perfect, but the only problem is that the Entity-A appears both in the LobSystemInstance 1 and also in LobSystemInstance 2.

I like to know if this is the best approach or are there better/other options to achieve this

Thanks in advance,

Jerry

Hi Jerry,

You can use Linkserver http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa560998.aspx to connect to multiple databases in the query and having a consolidated view and of course the Single LobSystemInstance to the BDC.

Hope this helps you!

Regards,

Qazi.

Hi Qazi,

Thanks for your reply.

Although i didn't use multiple SQL servers in one LobSystemInstance, your link triggered me to use another option.

Probably a more common way to solve it: i created different SQL views which use multiple tables from different databases.
