Hi all,

This is my first MOSS installation and I'm currently post installation and in the config stage. I'm going through the list of tasks given to me by the software upon first opening it. When I get to the Add Services piece, I am unable to start the WSS Search service. After completing the form to start it with my username and password (Administrator) for Service Account and Content Access Account, I set the database to my localhost (ZEISSSERVER) and the search database to WSS_Search_ZEISSSERVER. I click START at the bottom and I recieve the error: SPSearch (Administrator)

I have no idea how to solve this and I THINK I need this service running before I can finish the farm's managed services provider page in the next task. (This is all on a single Windows 2k3 server running SQL Server 2005 (default install) and SharePoint Server 2007.

Thanks,

Colin

Please look into your log files for more detailed information about the error: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\LOGS.

Change the account that is running the Search service.
