Templates Missing from Publishing Site

This may be a simple fix but I am using a publishing site for an Intranet site. Everything seems to be working just fine, I can add sites to it for various departments etc., no problem. Now I want to add another site using the Document Center template but I can't because that template is not available, actually there are 4 templates missing frorm the Enterprise tab, all other templates are there in all other tabs. I can create a site from Admin using the Team Site template and from that site I can get access to all templates. Anyone get this

Well, not sure why those templates are not available from a publishing site, I think it's a bug. Anyways, I found a workaround. I created a Team Site which gave me access to ALL templates, from that site I created a Document Center site then saved that site as a template and uploaded it to the Publishing Site. I was then able to choose the Document Center template from the Custom tab for Sites and Workspaces and get the site created that I needed. Still curious as to why 4 templates are missing when trying to access from a Publishing Site, it doesn't make sense that the Search Template is available but the Search Template with Tabs is not.

Some site templates like the Publishing site hide all other normally available site templates. This is by design.

If you want to change the available site templates, go to Site Settings > Page Layouts and Site templates > And choose the templates you want to make available from the select boxes.

(I'm not sure of the wording since I'm using a Dutch version but you should be able to find it).
