    - Troubleshooting "This Web Part Page has been modified since you opened it" error with load balancing working I am troubleshooting an error message that occurs on a Load Balanced MOSS 2007 site, "This Web Part Page has been modified since you opened it". I have read the KB Article http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/892348 and verified the settings are correct. I receive the error even when the IIS logs show that I only reached one of the two front end web servers. We have not determined steps that cause the error every time, but it ocurrs occasionally under the following scenario.     - Sharepoint calendar on 1024x768 resolution The Sharepoint 3.0 calendar on our home page when viewed in resolutions 1024x768 or below does not fit on the page. It breaks the tables and puts a scroll bar at the bottom. This is not functional! We've searched for an answer and tried several fixes. If we change the width of the web part it adds a scroll bar at the bottom of the calendar. Any suggestions appreciated.     - task list can be submitted although mandatory fields are not filled in I am working in MOSS 2007 and SPD 2007. I have created a workflow in SPD that involves a task list item. This task list item has a mandatory choice field. Unfortunately MOSS does not check if the field has been filled in by the user. The user can click "Complete Task" and the task will be completed although the mandatory field is still empty. The web form shows an asterix * behind the mandatory field and it looks all as if it should work. However it doesn't. Does anyone have an idea how to get arround this Thanks.     - Never could get that DataView connection to SQL Server to work..... thanks for reply, I will try youir steps when I have a chance but for the time being I found SSO way too fiddly, and as you pointed out there is a lack of info from SharePoint when configuring, no way to know if I had gotten it right or where I went wrong. Based on feedback in another post I set my SQL backend to use mixed auth and now have the data view web part working with a SQL login.     - Workflow modification form I have found the problem, and it's simple... It's an upper case lower case problem. When i generate a GUID with visual studio GUID generator i get an UPPER CASE GUID. I paste this in workflow.xml, so the workflow.xml has an upper case version of my GUID. Then i paste the GUID in the modificationID property of my onworkflowmodified and enableworkflowmodification. What Visual studio automatically does is make the ModificationID lowercase. So i guess because the workflow doesn't find an correlating formID it doesent show the modification link.     - Outlook/MOSS integration - missing the obvious? Hi - we are looking to synchronize a MOSS calendar list with the default Calendar in Outlook 2007. SharePoint insists on creating a new Calendar for every list I synchronise but does anyone know a way to change the destination Calendar so that the event items in the SharePoint Calendar list are actually synched with my default Calendar. This must be a common business request for organisations looking to use the Outlook/Sharepoint integration features in 2007. For example I've given someone access to my Calendar to see what I'm up to but if the SharePoint Calendar items are syched to the separate Calendar that MOSS created, this other user can't see all the additional appointments set for me in the SharePoint Calendar list. I could provide access to the MOSS generated calendar and ask the user to cross reference but if you multiply this by a hundred users all with different Calendars created by different Sharepoint lists this becomes impractical. However, using the FullTextSqlQuery class you can execute queries strictly on properties.     - Newbie: where store "AVI" files.....? I created some simple Sharepoint Services 3.0 AVI files for others to download and learn along with me. I planned to store them, naturally, in Sharepoint, in a document library. Is that a good place to store them (some said that Sharepoint is not optimized for videos and I should use "media server" instead. But, then we have information being scattered on different servers and not centralized. This was one of the very problems that Sharpeoint is trying to address.)     - Webpart fails to upload files It's a good idea to investigate IIS system memory usage if many users are uploading large files at the same time. If you are short on system memory in peak times your IIS even may get stuck. In these cases i use a third party component instead of using the standard method (e.g. Softartisans FileUp).     - Beginner Questions that I can't find answers to... I recently stumbled into a project and was handed a list of 200-300 requirements for a document management system. The client wants Sharepoint and we (my team) have to respond to their requirements using Sharepoint 2007 as our point of reference. Needless to say, none of us are familiar with Sharepoint and after reading the "Dummies" manual, we still have a small list of questions that we can't find answers for. I have tried the almighty "Google", but have had no luck there as well. I am throwing myself on the mercy of the professionals. If anyone can answer any of these questions I would be forever grateful. Please don't flame me too bad, like I said, I have no experience with Sharepoint , or any other document management system for that matter. I do have a technical background in development and am familiar with the technologies used like SQL 2005, AD, .NET etc. so feel free to keep the conversation somewhat high IQ . I put any notes regarding the requirement in blue . 1. The ability to search documents stored in a DB on index and full text basis and support boolean operators like AND, OR, Not and wildcard. I know you can search the docs on metadata and index, but is that in a DB 2. Set maximum number of files or individula file size that can be stored in a library. 3. Out of the Box, are any documented procedures provided for authentication relationships (so other than online, is any documentation provided in print with the product) 4. the ability to limit outside access through digital certificates 5. Out of the Box, are any documentation provided for remote access requirements 6. Are detailed log reports and analysis available on the document life cycle (workflow) 7. Are thery any default security reports, if so define. 8. Intelligent VFS - as simple to use as a shared drive through CIFS or FTP (okay they lost me here) 9.     - UH-OH! i turned Simple Publishing On - How do i turn it Off? I have recently deployed a site, where i turned Simple Publishing On in my sitedefinition. The reason why i turned it On was to get rid of the approval workflow which my client did not need. However it appear that not only the approval workflow was removed, but also the scheduling feature - therefore i will have to turn it Off again. It will be easy for me to deploy a new sitedefinition, whith the SimplePublishing set to Off, but a lot of sites has allready been created using the "On" version. I was thinking about making a small application that enumerated my Webs collection to accomplish that - but i cannot find what properties to use.     - MOSS 2007 Custom Site Template error on initial creation? After much help from MS Support, we found that the site creation problem was coming from an invalid list template in the \ TEMPLATE\SiteTemplates\SPSSITES\XML\onet.xml file. We removed the lines that referred to list template without paths. After that and an iisreset, everything worked as usual.     - Audience Membership Groups Problem Curtis Ruppe (MicroStaff IT) wrote: AD groups do not get imported into SharePoint. Check your User Profile import query, or maybe I'm still not understanding your problem. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think the above statement is correct. AD groups do need to be imported into SharePoint user profiles if you plan on using them with Audiences. (And one very good reason to use them with Audiences is that is extremely tedious to create audiences that allow a specific list of users.) If you want an example, go into AD and create a group, then immediately try to set up an Audience where the rule specifies "User" "Member Of" with the value of the group name. It will tell you "No exact match was found". Then run a full profile import (for some reason, an incremental won't get it, at least not for me). Try setting up the Audience again - it will work. (I also found this because I originally set up SharePoint to use a custom AD query when importing from AD so it only imported active users - SharePoint imports everything from AD - active and inactive users, which I think is insane. When I had it only importing active users, I could not set up any Audiences that used AD groups because my custom AD query only imported users. I had to change it to also import groups.) I agree 100% with the original poster - the way groups work with Audences make no sense. If I create a site and want to set the permissions on the site by giving access to a AD group, I can specify that AD group at any time - it does not use User Profiles to find the group. However, when I need to create an Audience, that group will not validate unless it has been imported into the User Profiles. Now, I know Audiences are not for security - but that doesn't matter. It's not about using Audiences for security - the question is why SharePoint validates AD groups directly from AD when setting site permissions, but requires them to be imported into User Profiles to validate them in Audiences. Question I have is that, I created a out of the box Portal and I named it My Portal. it also created a tabular navigation at the top and the first tab called "My Portal". Every time I change the title the text on the first tab also changed.     - SQL 2005 Database Mirroring in MOSS and WSS Marcel, In not sure this is correct, the limiting factor (other posts on this forum) is around threads and the communication required between the servers in the mirror to keep it in step. We are now looking at options for SAN replication ( SQL Always On ) or the option of having geospeperated SAN storage... Expensive Otherwise log shipping will be the fall back postion failover SQL Clusters. It's interesting to see that Microsoft is not supporting SQL Mirroring with SharePoint, they were the ones who release the white paper of the configuration for this. What documentation is out there that discusses Mobile browser support for SharePoint's excel services feature. I am testing out some senerios, but have been unable to display excel documents through the excel services viewer or through the dashboard web parts. Does anyone have any information on this

I am looking to consume BI Charts and Graphs via excel services in a mobile device.

Mobile browsers are not supported for Excel Services 12.

The supported browsers are IE 6/7 and Firefox (limited).

Is there any information available on future anticipated support on mobile browsers As you are likely aware, InfoPath Forms Services 12 does work well on mobile browsers so I'd hope the differences are minimal.

If there is to be no mobile support of excel services, do you have any information on an updated Pocket Office suite that would be 2007 file format compliant
