Hey,

Has anybody seen this issue.

I have been deploying solutions for months. Now in the past few days everytime I start an immediate or scheduled solution deploy or retraction it does not deploy but stays at Deploying(scheduled at xxxx ),,,,

An entry is added to the Timer Job Definitions as "Windows SharePoint Services Solution Deployment for ".... but it does not start. Other timer jobs are running. Admin services is running on all the servers and I do not see job errors in the event log.

I am running >stsadm -o execadmsvcjobs to get the solution deplyed for now.

Any idea's

Thanks

I think you are having issues with DST. This occured in the Spring as well. The immediate job that is scheudled is not firing because it is really a time that activates the job ( set for something like the next minute) but SP has an issue with this new DST change and is not scheduling the correct time + 1 min.

The stsadm command will kick of the waiting jobs. It "should" clear up Sun am when the we are back in "Normal" DST. By the way all your scheudled jobs are probably off an hour and not just the immediate but since you are not watching those you probably do not notice it.

Thanks Darrin

Yep. It looks like all the timer jobs are delayed by an hour. Must be the DST bug in SharePoint 2007. It started this week so I guess the scheduler switched to standard time last sunday per the old DST and that killed all the immediate jobs..

I guess we can wait untill sunday to see if it clears up without having to apply the patch. Darin let us know if it works!!

What a waste of time..

Thanks guys!!!

Check Joel's blog post about the DST patch and hotfixes.

This should help.

Thanks
