I can think of 2 options:

1. Use the explorer view of the document library, sort and then drag/drop from document library to disk.

2. Create a network drive, as in: ">net use g: \\conchang-o9l8qi\forums\multicolumns"

From there, do your copy.

HTH,

Thanks for the reply Paul. Unfortunately, I can seem to only make this work on Vista and XP but I cant seem to make it work on Windows Server 2003 SP2. Anything I need to install or configure on the server I need this to work on the server of the sharepoint itself. Thanks!

How does it not work

I would expect the network drive approach to work regardless of server or client.

Explorer view requires a few things to work on the client. Here's one link that describes the issue: http://blogs.tamtam.nl/mart/CommentView,guid,c9b4f202-9704-4f5b-9671-2db631ec8724.aspx

I'm not sure that it's definitive. If you search for "explorer view in sharepoint does not work" you'll get a lot of results.

Mike Walsh's SharePoint FAQ site probably addresses this too: http://wss.collutions.com/default.aspx

I think you may be right. In the server itself, explorer view is not working.
