Hi Currently I'm using Sharepoint 2007 and what im trying to do is this.

I have my main site which has top level information, but then i want to create sub sites for different departments.

Now creating the site collections are ok, and adding users to groups etc.

What I want to be able to do is on the main page, depending on what user and/or what group they're in, have information relating to that departments site appear.

I've looked everywhere for help on this and cant find the answer, Web Parts seem to be hardcoded, as in i have to pick one there that sticks.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Alen

Re: SharePoint - Business Intelligence Change display depending on user

Hi Alen
MOSS 2007 offers a Current User Filter web part which basically can pass User Profile properties as filter values to other web parts. Other than this there are sets of other filter web parts that can be used for this purpose. I guess a combination of the filter web parts should be able to help you solve your problem. Frankly speaking I myself have not tried this but will check out on the same.

Thanks and Regards

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in reply.

Current user filter is a good idea if you have webpart that are already responsive to the filter value.

If the information is dependent on the group, You might want to use "Audience Targeting".
