Hi

I've created a form in infopath and published it to a sharepoint library. Now when the users click on "Fill out this form" the form opens in inforpath and they fill it out,, then.. What's next I realized that there are 2 options in the toolbar, Submit and save.

I tried the Submit button but It gives me an error.

I tried the save button and It showes me the save window to sharepoint server. When I save it, I can see the result in the sharepoint library.

What is the difference between Submit and save and how it should be What is the suitable way I think that people will choose to click in submit button after filling up the form. Its a common sense.... What do you think

Shall I use Submit or Save

Hi,

When you save infopath form ,the template is saved as XML file on sharepoint docoment library. So you make a template with fill data in it.When you submit the form you connect to some datasourse to insert data in database for example.

Webservice is considered as best submiting datasourse. If you have submit problem this must be because you open infopath form through browser(it is difficult to make submitting to browser).

So if you want to save the form as the user fill it you should save it on sharepoint, if you want to collaborate with database you should use submit.

Good luck.

Save is just saving the Infopath form data (XML) into the Forms library. Whereas submit is making the form connect to

web-service/database for further processing. If the submit is failing, there could be some problem with UDCs (Universal Data Connection). Please refer the following link for more informaton on configuring & Deploying Infopath forms
