Hi all,

Simalar to this thread

I navigate to my root site (http://sitename/) which is a TEAM SITE collection. I would like to edit some menu features, however, If i click on Site Actions > Site Settings >

I do not see the MODIFY NAVIGATION or MODIFY ALL SITE SETTINGS options. There is only:

  • CREATE
  • EDIT PAGE
  • SITE SETTINGS

The answer to the linked thread suggests to go to SITE SETTINGS > Site Collection Features. From here, activate the PUBLISHING INFRASTRUCTURE feature.

However, I do not have this option. I only have "Three-state workflow"

Can someone please help

Thanks in advance!

To see "Modify All Site Settings", you need to Activate the "Office SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure" site collection feature, and activate "Office SharePoint Server Publishing" site feature.

I believe the feature is only available in MOSS.

You can change the left nav menu options in WSS v3 using the page named "Quick Launch" in site settings on a team site. The "Top Links" section is used to the managed the top nav.

Thanks for the replies.

It would make sense that this option is not available in WSS. Just one of the benefits of MOSS I guess!

Basically what I am attempting to do is:

The default page (http://servername/) contains a quicklaunch bar (leftnav) which I have added links to via the "Quick Launch" options in the "Site Settings" page.

I have multiple subsites, the reason for this being for permissions. However each subsite has it's own individual Quicklaunch menu items (links) but they are not linked to the default (root) page.

I am aware that in WSS 3.0 you are able to inherit the "Top Link" (topnav) links from the default (root) page. But is there a way in which I can do this for the quicklaunch

I have had a little look at the "Datasource" within the default.master for the subsites in hope that I could potentially use the same datasource as the default (root) page, however this has proved unsuccessful. Please see this link for further details.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance, Jamie
