Hi all,

I made some changes to the default.master page(like deleting aspTongue TiediteMapPath SiteMapProvider="SPSiteMapProvider"). I can see those changes in most of the pages, but not in some pages like viewlsts.aspx,settings.aspx etc.
1)What should i do to make the same changes in those pages also

The above case is valid only for administrator. If I logs in as another user, those changes are not at visible to other users
2) What should I do to make the same master page visible to all users

Please reply...

Thx ,

Alex

Hello

The pages which you are referring to , uses a different master page application.master residing on the file system.
They would not get affected by chnging the default.master page.

To change the master page for these pages, see
http://kbalertz.com/944105/customize-application-pages-Layouts-folder-SharePoint-Server-Windows-SharePoint-Services.aspx

Otherwise you can change application.master directly but those changes will be affected by all sites then.

Hope this helps

Thx a lot Madhur,

That solves my first problem.

But the second one is troubling me a lot.

I created a new sitecollection and tried the same thing. But still the changes i make to default.master page are not getting reflected to the site users(the changes apply only when logged in as administrator).

And moreover if i create a copy of default.master and set it as the custom master page, the default.aspx page will show access denied error to all users other than administrator.

Pleaseeeeeee help me on this..................I've already spend a lot of time on it...

Any kind of suggestions are most welcome..

Alex

Hi

Did you both checkin and approve the master page. Unless you do both , your changes wont be visible to other users. Go to master page library and see if its checkedin and approved. Also publish your css file if its checked out.
