Re: SharePoint - Setup, Upgrade, Administration and Operation Recurring Sharepoint 2007 Errors.

Kevin Parkin

Yup, same here. According to "Microsoft Best Practices Analyzer for Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0" (downloadable), "The SharePoint 3.0 Central Administration Web application account and the Windows SharePoint Services Timer Service account must be the same".

So it appears to be an account mismatch. The analyzer describes how to change the timer account, but it's unclear how to find out what the admin web account was in the first place.

Gary Hess

I am getting the same errors but have the same account in both places already. To check the web admin account open the IIS manager expand the application pools and do a properties on your central admin pool. The user is on the identity tab.
