Detecting Dead Links while searching

I would be pleased to know if SharePoint detects Dead Links while crawling.

Is this feature an out-of-the-box web part, is it an additional tool, or should i do it be done programmatically

There is dead link logic but it takes 3 crawls to remove the content. The intent is is the content is temporarily unavailable you don't want to remove the content.

It does not tell you that your links are dead, it only removes the references to the linked content.

In the site directory there is a dead link checker.
