Hi everyone,

We have a library that contains numerous custom columns. There is an approval workflow associated with the library. The client wants the approval email that goes out from the workflow to contain the custom metadata columns that were added.

i have looked at the alerttemplates.xml, and made some modifications. I updated the tempate using stsadm, and did a iisreset...nothing changed in the approval email that goes out.

Is this possible to do Any help would be very much appreciated.

I am using MOSS 2007 (WSS 3.0).

Thanks in advance.

Ali.

I still have not resolved this issue. If i do, i will post the result here; my initial hunch is that this is not possible...if anyone out there can confirm that would be great.

I too have an interest in this. I REALLY have a need to custiomize the default email template especially in workflows.

I hate that is says REVIEW xxxxx.doc when I want them to APPROVE xxxxxx.doc this is so confusing that every email task says to review when they are supposed to approve or reject or mail to.

Let me know and If I find an answer I too will post back.

Why not create a new workflow entirely and use the new one (which you will add the columns to using the Designer) as the content approval workflow

so that is the alternative, right create our own workflow; but before embarking on that i want to be sure i'm not going down a road that i don't need to.

Hi

I too needed to customise the OOTB workflow and from everywhere I have seen so far I think the only way is to start again, the SDK/ECM Kits have some good starting points if you need to go down the Visual Studio development route,
