I use an event tracking solution to monitor my event logs. Currently they are able to read and manage all of my windows logs, IIS, ect..

We are planning on a sharepoint deployment. When someone accesses an object, logs on or off sharepoint, ect.. there are events generated. Where are these events stored Are they stored in the Windows event logs or is there a Sharepoint event log similar to the way IIS has its own logs

If you are doing Security Auditing, you can check the Security log in Event Viewer, but another common location for SharePoint logs is c:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\LOGS.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Do you happen to know what events are logged into the Sharepoint logs that are not logged in the Security Logs Probably a better question is, what is logged in each log

Go to Central Administration -> Operations. Click on Configure Diagnostic logs. You can look at all the events logged there.
