    - broken links and themes not applied Hi Grace, What do you mean when you said the default.aspx page was not under the Documents of the web site Lets back up for a minute, was the changes to your site done on the default.master All default.aspx pages reside under the SITE TEMPLATES folder and all refer to the default.master located in the WEB SERVER EXTENSIONS\12\TEMPLATE\GLOBAL which defines the layout to all basic sites.     - hosting ASPX form used in Sharepoint workflow in Outlook 2007 I have a requisition workflow using an ASPX form that is used in a SharePoint task list. Currently I send an email with a link to the form that an approver can then approve/disapprove the requisition. I want to send the actual ASPX form to Outlook in an email so that instead of a link, the approver can click either button from their email to approve/disapprove the requisition. Please direct me to any similar application samples, code, etc that will help me accomplish embedding the ASPX form in an email. We will be using this application on an internal LAN. Thank you.     - Need a simple way to generate a random or sequential number in a text box. I have multiple users completing forms and submitting them to a single SharePoint library. I need a simple way to automatically assign a random or sequential four-digit number to a particular field: "Job_Number". This would preferably be done when the form opens.     - Sending Task creation notification mails I just tried the standard approval workflow, Result: No mail from the workflow, same issue as with my own one. Only the subscription mails are sent. Shouldn't the approval workflow not also send an email I think so and then it seems to be a sharepoint problem ...     - Template Problem I'm sorry, then I can't give you much more help. This works for me. Now after reviewing my settings I noticed that I should use "Set up groups"-functions to create the groups. And then I add "NT AUTHORITY\authenticated users" to the visitiors group and give the visitors group Contribute settings. Maybe you could check the permission settings for the list Sign Ups or the permissions Activities list. I assume that the authenticated users credentials are used to update theese lists.     - Can't filter Web Access Worksheet with PivotTable in it - Error Hello all, in the past i usually tried to solve my problems on my own, but in this case, i can't figure out.... - I got an excel workbook with an pivot-table on it getting data from an SSAS Cube. - ..defined one Dimension as a filter and gave the corresponding cell a name. - ..published the workbook on Sharepoint (defining the parameter, etc..) When i open the workbook on the sharepoint site everything is fine. I can change the parameters for the filter and the data is refreshed. -> Now i put a Excel Web Access Web Part on a Page and in it the workbook. Everything works as expected. -> Then I put a TextFilter Web Part on the page and connect the filter with the workbook parameter. When I then enter a filter value and press return the Excel-Services throw an error: (Translated from german) At least one parameter connot be set. Error while setting parameters for the workbook.     - My Site & My Link Setup Question I am a newbie and have a question on My Links. We are in the implementation phase of MOSS 2007. We are not releasing the My Site functionality right away. So I went into the SSP and clicked on Personalization services permissions and un-checked the "Create Personal Site", but if I do not un-check the "Use Personal Features" I am able to create a My Links page. So my question is that if I have created the MY Site web app but don't want to release it yet is it possible to release My Links. Seeing My Links uses the My Site web app I created. I guess I could delete the My Site Web app (since we are only testing) and see what happens. So can we use My Links without using My Sites or are they so closely related that it is best not to use it until we release My Sites. Any insights is appreciated.     - Unable to view Pivottable using OWC 11.0 webpart I'm using Sharepoint 2.0 and recently I have installed Office Web Component 11.0 in order to create feiw reports and present them through Office Pivot table Web part. I'm using Office 2003 on the client machine. I was able to create a connection to the Sharepoint site that contains the data source (Issues List) also I was able to chose what field to prest in the web part. However, I'm getting the fo,llolwing error when saving all changes: "The Query Could not be processed. The data provider didn't supply any other error information" I'm sure I have all security permissions on the site/box.     - RollBackTask Hi I am currently creating custom workflows for sharepoint using VS 2005 extensions for windows workflow foundation. I see there is a RollBackTask which indicates that one can roll back on a task that was previously done. Im looking for some documentation how this task should be used and what it is meant to do.     - Backup of sites Shankar, There is a way to do site level backup and restore with the default tool, however I do caution against using this as a standard practice. It is to us stsadm -import and -export as a way to "migrate" sites to a backup location. However, this is an extremely resource intensive process, Microsoft does NOT recommend doing this during production hours as it will sap all your process resources and bring the portal to a crawl. They also do NOT recommend using it as a backup tool, mainly because it is very error prone (fails, and offers no real error reporting) and it does not work on large site or sites with customizations. If you search for info on stsadm, you will find multiple blogs andposts with methods for using it. That said, AvePoint does offer 7 levels of granularity in backup and restore in the DocAve product.     - Search in PDF Files If you have not gotten the answer already, in order to search the PDF, you will need to convert it to searchable PDF using OCR technology. Hello,

I am looking to set up a sharepoint environment within a server farm. I will have 2 front end web servers, one search server, one index server and a sql cluster on the back end. I know that there is a sharepoint license needed as well as the CALs. My question is this - will I need just one sharepoint license for the environment, or will I need a license for each server in the farm

You will need a server license for each server in the farm that you install SharePoint onto. So the 2 front end, search and index servers.

Regarding CALs depending on you current licensing you may already have these if you have a Core CAL for Windows and Office. If you solution is a MOSS 2007 setup you will also need to purchase an additional Enterprise CAL if you want to make use of the Enterprise Features.
