Hiya.

I've got an ASPX layout page with a RichHtmlField web part inside it. When I create a new page based on this layout, I want to be able to place HTML code that contains a flash object inside the Page Content.

To give you an idea of what I need, I have the following code in an ASPX page built from scratch on my site:

<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="shapes.swf" width="540" height="404">
<param name="movie" value="../FlashGames/shapes.swf" />
</object>

The above code displays the Flash file no problem.

Now, if I create a new page based on the page layout I'm using and I place the same HTML code inside the RichHtmlField (using the Edit HTML option), nothing gets displayed at all. It will display other things liks <p> elements or <br />, <div>, etc, but it seems to have a problem with Flash content.

Is there a way around this

Cheers.
Jas.

Try to use content editor web part and go to HTMLeditor and try to put your code there.

You can do that, but it's much better to have a web part dedicated to the cause. Check it out: http://www.codeproject.com/spoint/MOSSFlashWebPart.asp

Hi there.

Thanks for the suggestion, that will come in very handy. We have experimented with another Flash view web part, but it's always good to have options.

Cheers for that.
