Hi Everyone
I've got loads of documents from the past 3 years that i want to transfer to a number of sharepoint site document libraries
When i upload the files through a drag n drop in explorer view, the files appear to retain the correct metadata for Modified Date, Created Date and Author. However, if you go into any other type of view, you get the date and time of upload plus the user who uploaded it instead of the correct meta data.
Now, i've seen a couple of apps out there (like DocKit) that claim to solve this problem, but i can't seem to get them to work properly (nor do i want to spend hundreds of dollars on them)
Anybody know an easy way to fix this, because it will get really confusing for end users who often use the date created / modified to identify the correct document.
If you don't, and there is someone from the sharepoint dev team reading this: Please fix this in a service pack as it is stopping Sharepoint from being a truly great bit of software!!!!
