Creating New Site, Have catalog of products

Hi All,

I have just installed SharePoint Server & designer, and now my task as follows:

- Create new site.

- The site had to have a left navigation, header navigation.

- The body should have a catalog for selling computer parts.

Since i am new on SharePoint is this something can be done And if yes where to start and how

You can do all of that.

Create the site from Central Administration (Application Management | Create Site Collection...from memory)

If you create the site as a Publishing Portal you will have several options for oob masters that include top and left navigation.

Create a page layout that contains a web part that lists the items from a SharePoint list of the items you are selling. (Possibly linking to details about the items.)

(Web Part that list the items from SharePoint list), how can i create this you mean that i dont have to had database for my products if yes please tell me the way to do this

Create a list for your products on the site. You can do this by selecting View All Site Content and then Create from the tool bar.

Configure the list by adding columns.

Once the list is created there will be a web part of the same name as your list in the gallery.
