Is it possible to SSL an extended website using a specific port number

For example, I have a web application http://mysite:1000 that I have extended to https://mysite:1001 by selecting the SSL option when extending the webapp. This sets up the Alternative Access Mapping to show a public and internal URL of https://mysite:1001. I can change the public URL to my WWW name, for example, and then add an internal URL to point to https://mysite:1001.

But how do I setup the SSL port number in the IIS manager properties/Web Sites tab for that website Do I set the SSL port number to 1003 Do I just add 443 as a "Mulitple Identity for this Website" from the Advanced button Or can I even use SSL on a sharepoint site using a unique port number like 1001
