    - "Edit this Task" button in Infopath 2007 does nothing I am using the out of the box Approver Workflow in Sharepoint 2007. When a user gets a task assigned to them to approve they get a email message. They click on the document link that takes them to the sharepoint infopath form library and opens the infopath form. At the top of the form they get Workflow Task Please approve document...when they click the "Edit this Task" button nothing happens. This is happening on about 12 people out of ~200 does anyone know how to solve this problem We have tried everything from repairing the OS to uninstalling all office components and re-installing to rebuilding the computer and the only thing that has worked is rebuilding the computer.     - problem to add user with the web page dialog Hi, I create a new web application with a new site collection, whenever i try to add a new user by using the web page dialog, if i just do a search by typing the name i cant find anyone, if i research someone with his loginname i can find him but once found his email adress doesnt appear. I have others site collections and the user adding work fine. So it is very strange for me, does someone face to the similar kind of issue and find out what caused it. This might be an elementary question, but it's been bugging me for a few days...so here it goes: How do I select one item (the item that corresponds to my heading) to be retrieved from a given list, using data view web parts (in Sharepoint Designer, for a WSS 3.0 solution) When using data view web parts, adding data as single item views, you get a listing of the items (page 1=item A, page 2 = item B, etc) - one item per page. I want to retrieve only ONE item on ONE page (no next page function). The item I want displayed is the item which heading I clikcked on the previous page.     - Coordinate My Sites across your organization hi Guys, Currently, I have 2 SSP in MOSS 2007 environment. Each SSP has a mysite. SSPa: mysiteA SSPb: mysiteB I have some users from SSPa that want access to SSPb site. However, when these users click on mysite on SSPb site, a new mysite is created on SSPb site while this user already has mysite on SSPa site.     - Login prompt when accessing files I have found that trusted sites allow controls to run, but doesnt always provide seamless authentication. Try putting your sharepoint URL into the Intranet Zone in ie rather than trusted sites, also ensure that "Integrated Authentication" is enabled as an option within IE. Just to check you are using this on a Domain setup with NTLM Also you can check within SharePoint (Application Management -> Authentication Providers -> Default (against your web application) ensure its set to NTLM, (if its Kerberos or anything else, special config may be required) Tag: My Site Query

    - Remote debugging: professional help needed Hi All, I've been struggling with setting the remote debugging function for almost a week and you're my last hope to solve the problem. Here's the situation: I try to debug my local application developed in VS2005 on a SPS running on Windows 2003 Server. I've got on both computers administrator rights, as well as "log on as a service" policy enabled. I log on to both computers with the same account and password. Both computers are in the same domain. Attaching to the process on my local machine ends in the message: "The Microsoft Remote Debugging Monitor on the remote computer does not have permission to connect to this computer". OK, when I take a look at the Remote Monitor I see the connection. I also tried something diffrent: I started VS2005 on the host machine (the one with SPS) and tried to see the processes on my guest machine. And it worked! However, the other direction doesn't work. I assume that something is messed up with the user account on the computer running SPS as described here: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms164725(vs.80,d=printer).aspx But, what could it be Like I said, I checked everything not only twice.     - Extremely simple list update workflow erroring out on me For the first cause ("infinite loop"), how did you correct this Also, in what circumstances could "Set Field Value in Current Item" ever work It sounds like trying to set a field value for the current item will always result in an infinite loop. But it does not suite for me because I need to get correct results no matter what is set in 'Show Field' setting. But yesterday evening I found a solution that works for me. Attribute LookupId="TRUE" must be added to <FieldRef>. Using this attribute I can search by user ID.     - SetRange Performance Sanjay, I ran this to turn off logging: stsadm -o setlogginglevel -category "general" -tracelevel none It had no real impact on the performance of SetRange. My single call to SetRange is 368ms. I ran my application while perfmon was running, watching the ECS and WFE counters. I've gotten "event receiver context for Workflow is invalid" when I forgot to associate the BeforeProperties and AfterProperties with a field or if I use the wrong correlation token. The fact that the first error occurs regardless of the order of your actions makes me think that the error is in the OnWorkflowItemChanged activity and has nothing to do with having both EventDriven activities in the same state. For the OnTaskChanged, it does seem like there is a problem with serialization. Does the workflow work correctly if you take out the OnWorkflowItemChanged activity and just have the OnTaskChanged activity Good luck. -Cynthia Tag: My Site Query

    - 2436 Error - With a twist :) Well recently the server started recieving 2436 errors. After spending a whole day googling and trying numerous suggestions, tearing my hair out, the next morning I almost instanty figured out what the problem was However I still haven't found a solution, hopefully some guru's out there can help... Explanation below: Setup: WSS 3.0, fully patched. Single server install. I have two sites on our server, one internal over http: and one external using https: mapped to separate IP's. The server at some point started giving pairs of 2436 errors, one for each site. I wont go into all the other 2436 suggested fixes, but they mostly focused on permissions and loopbacks not working. This problem ended up being permissions in a different way... A few weeks ago we disabled integrated windows authentication on both sites because we are running novell logins instead of windows logins for all users (this will hopefully change soon, but thats the way it is ). By disabling integrated windows authentication, the service/content accounts which were manually keyed in and belong to the neccessary groups, ceased authenticating to the server! Turning integrated authentication back on fixed the problem, however we want to run with it OFF given our sad/unique environment. Has anyone run into this problem before Any suggestions on how I can get these accounts authenticating to the server without having to have integrated authentication on Thanks Tag: My Site Query

But when user click on News or Updates tab he should be redirected to login page since he is in pre login state. I am using CombinedNavSiteMapProvider from siteMap > providers section with securityTrimmingEnabled="false" but no luck. Please let me know if I am heading towards wrong direction.     - Changing Color for Links I was indeed suggesting to find and replace the ones that you wanted to change. Maybe replace all wasnt the best word to pick for that. In sharepoint designer you can open the core.css file and see what you are changing it is very helpfull and I suggest to use sharepoint designer to edit the core. Tag: My Site Query

    - where to fill out the form Not sure if this is a stupid question - I have published and then activated an administrator-approved form template on my site collection. I can see the template at http://server ort/sites/Forms/default.aspx --> View all Site Content -> Document Libraries -> Form Templates -> my_test_temp. If I double click on the template, a fillable form opens in the browser. I can fill in the form. The issues are: 1. There is no save or save as. I can only see Close | Print View. 2. When I hit "close", the form closes and I don't see the "document" I filled out though. Where is the document/form (not the template) that I filled out That makes me think that I need to go to a different place to "use" the template to create documents/forms. but where thanks. I am setting up my colleagues with access to Sharepoint Portal Server
2003 and have a query.

On the MY SITE page accessed through the main front page of Sharepoint
(which I believe can be personal to each user), is
there a way for the links to the different teamsites/workspaces that
each user has access to, be pulled through to the MY LINKS SUMMARY
web
part automatically without me manually adding them in

My reasons for this are so each user has a central point to navigate
to all their work without clicking on different links.

Can anyone help

There is no way out of the box that I know of to do this.
