Hello!

I've been waiting to get this controller for some time now and I'd like to know if there are any release dates set for this product In Microsoft's page it says that it will be available early 2007 but nothing more specific. Here's the link to the page I mentioned:

Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows

Thanks!

JuzaK,

Its out! Basically you buy the Xbox 360 wireless gaming receiver. You can either use a XBox 360 wireless controller that came with a retail 360 or buy one (it works on both pc and Xbox 360. I have attached links.

Microsoft Xbox Site
EB Games
Amazon

Thanks

So there will not be a official release of the product like there was with the wired one

Not sure, I know this was released in US on Feb 21st. I haven't seen a press release on this. Thanks.

David Weller - MSFT

On Amazon.com for $16.99 in the US http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Wireless-Gaming-Receiver-Windows/dp/B000HZFCT2/ref=pd_bbs_3/102-2224490-9059335 ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1173304122&sr=8-3

Please don't make the mistake that some of the reviewers on Amazon did, thinking it would work with other wireless controllers. It is only designed to work with current and future Xbox 360 wireless devices.

I checked the Amazon page and somebody had posted this review:

As some has said already Microsoft release this way too early and with no support, Gaming forums are alight with this product right now because its incompatible with any type of logitech wireless mouse or keyboard plugged into the same computer, there is no fix other than don't use it. When i installed the drivers for this on my windows XP machine my Logitech mouse stopped responding, only way to fix this is unplug the Xbox wireless receiver and reboot..

I have wireless Logitech keyboard and mouse. Is this true what the reviewer says that the Xbox 360 reciever and wireless Logitech products won't work together

It would appear so..I've had the pad work once and after that it's never connected again!

I have a logitech wireless mouse n pad combo and it would appear as many others have said on amazon that it's microsoft who've clearly not done their research.

Pissed me off as I've been wanting this for ages

Sort it out MS

That sounds bad. Oh well... It's good to know it won't work because it would've been a very big disappointment if I had bought it. Not to mention the price too which is pretty high because you have to buy 2 different products (the gamepad itself and the receiver) and maybe the batteries and charger too. I guess I'll just have to wait for Microsoft to release a fix for this problem.

Huh, well I have the logitech wireless trackball, and both Microsoft Keyboard, and Mouse all wireless and I have no problems. Mind you, my wireless trackball is connected through the ps/2 port and not the USB.

Anyways, I'm a little disapointed thus far with the product, the trigger buttons on the back are considered a Z axis control So if I want to use them as a button in any of my games - I can't. It would be nice if the software would allow you to customize how the computer percieves the trigger buttons.

I have a 360 so it's no big loss on my part, and I'll keep the reciever around in hopes the software improves in the future. I was really excited about it, but since it doesn't really help me, I'm not using it right now.

I've gone back to my logitech rumblepad, which DOES allow you to use the trigger buttons.

Oh, one last thing, there's not joystick profile/emulator with the software, like Logitech packages. So I can't just get the gamepad to emulate my mouse and keyboard with games that don't have joystick support. Another downer. Maybe an improvement one day

Do Microsoft people read these forums

The amazon post you posted is my exact problem and workaround. I'm not sure if I should just go back and return this. I don't want to just sit and wait for a patch to come out if its going to take too long.

I guess the more of us return it the retailers will force a fix ... hmmm

Re: Game Technologies: General Release of Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows?

The ZMan

David Weller (who posted the amazon link) is microsoft.

There will be no patch - this wireless controller is designed to work with wireless xbox peripherals ONLY.

However if the issue is that the 2 peripherals are somehow stepping in each others toes, maybe a conflict in wireless frequency then there's probalby not much can be done. At this point you should call Microsoft and/or logitech support and see what they have to say.

Since these are developer forums not end user support I am locking the thread.
