There's no editor built in or that's directly compatiable with XNA. You can create your levels using whatever you want and export the data to a format that XNA can use (.x, .fbx, etc.).

XNA-Mordt

http://www.leadwerks.com looks interesting although I have never tried it. I use the DeleD modeler to make objects and dungeons and Freeworld3D to make Heightmaps for outside areas. It is a personal preference though and you might feel it better to create your own.

The freeworld and DeleD applications look pretty interesting.

Does anyone know of any tutorials built around creating models and getting them into an XNA project I'm sure there's tons of tutorials for those apps out there, but I'd like to read one with the end goal of getting it into the Content Manager.

Just make sure the file can be read by XNA (.x or .fbx being the most popular). Then, in GSE, go to Help->Contents. Open the "Getting Started With XNA Game Studio Express" node and you'll see the "Going Beyond: XNA Game Studio Express in 3D" node. Click that. It'll teach you how to load and move models.

Yep, I've read those. Getting models into GSE is the easy part. I need more help with making the content.

freeworld3d is very good if you are making a terrain based engine, I recently got this is its very useful, almost on par with the battlefield editor.
