I don't remember Chuckie X, but it looks like Burger Time to me. :) I like the retro-mono-color graphics :) Very nice.

Chuckie Egg was a fantastic game. I'm not sure if it was very popular outside the European market, though.

I was a great game but I have to say, I always preferred Manic Miner and Jet Set Willy =o)

Re: XNA Game Studio Express Chuckie X - YouTube footage

The ZMan

Nice... so do you have the game to play anywhere

and RedNeon... don't forget that Manic Miner wasn't the original. If you never saw it running this was the inspiration http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miner_2049er 1982 on the atari 800. Manic Miner was 1983... I wonder what Matthew Smith is doing now - still living off his millions I hope. Wikipedia is pretty vague http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthew_Smith_%28games_programmer%29 (Yes I'm old....)

Bill Reiss

I played Miner 2049er on my TI 99/4a, was a great game at the time. I know I'm dating myself...

Wow, I never knew that. Cheers :)

He was most definitely a pioneering developer. I believe that title belongs to only a few developers, namely David Braben, Ian Bell, Matthew Smith, Chris Sawyer... I might be a little biased because they're all British :)

Re: XNA Game Studio Express Chuckie X - YouTube footage

The ZMan

also Peter Molyneux... Jez San... those guys cost me so much time and money when I was a kid (yes I'm old and british too)

Guys, I'm filling up... good to know it's not just me. I would also namecheck Mr Jeff Minter who was/is a legend. Gridrunner on the Vic 20 is one of my all-time favourite games - looking forward to Space Giraffe on 360 XBLA. More trivia: Jeff wrote the Xbox 360's visualiser.

Check out his gamedev blog: http://stinkygoat.livejournal.com/.

Now back to finishing up Chuckie X. Might remake Gridrunner next.

Cheers.
