Is there any reason why the Creators Club Subscription is not showing up on my Xbox
I live in Norway, but I've not read anything about any region restrictions on this download. I want in on the fun too!

- New 1.0 Refresh isn't installing. You don't need to own an Xbox 360 to install and use XNA Game Studio Express. If you have one, turning it on or off, or downloading the update or not, won't make any difference. If that seemed to do something for you, it was just a coincidence. - Fullscreen and multimon The SDK's samples is where this whole mess started. In my opinion DXUT just cannot handle multiple monitors correctly. If I create a window on the primary, drag it to the secondary the toggle to full screen, it appears to work. But when toggling back to windowed, the window size is not what is was before, also when dragging the window back to the primary, the window appears to be stretched. In order to correct this problem, and a few others I have noticed, I have built my own C++ framework. No more messing around with C style calls and callback functions. I can simply derive any new project from my framework and away I go. From a newbies percpective, it has given me a great knowledge of the inner workings of DX. - Game Component Serialization S'all right Jim we all have these bouts of madness from time to time. - Setting RenderState's inside a shader - possible? Hey all, I've been searching for the last two hours, and I can't seem to find anything. Is it possible to set RenderState's inside a shader Does anyone have any links I can't find anything on MSDN, not even in the HLSL documentation. I'm looking to set these states, if it's possible: GraphicsDevice.RenderState.AlphaSourceBlend = Blend.SourceAlpha; GraphicsDevice.RenderState.DestinationBlend = Blend.InverseSourceAlpha; And their additive counterparts: GraphicsDevice.RenderState.AlphaSourceBlend = Blend.SourceAlpha; GraphicsDevice.RenderState.DestinationBlend = Blend.One; Thanks for the help. - Problem with limiting instances I'd be curious to hear (no pun intended) the results of two things: 1. try it with different combinations of values in the InstanceToReplace and HowToReplace variables. - Projectile collision within arraylists Hello everyone I am currently writing a game in xna and I am having some problems detecting collision between vector2's within an arraylist. - Joypad problems No its ok, I have the latest SDK and fully understand how to use it, as I'm an experienced contract C/C++/asm coder, but this is my 1st ever venture in the C# world and as such I have zero idea how to make use of Direct Input in a C# project. Obviously I've got to learn and am ploughing through the resources now, and think I've got some idea, but its very bad form, I think to supply a starter system that won't work on the VAST majority of peoples PC's then expect C# novices to impliment legacy control systems Seriously, its enough to make me go, "oh bugger whats the point" and head back to the safety of my C++ code. A scan through the forums eventually found some info that got my joypad working, but Microsoft...c'mon...get a grip guys and provide PC joypad support with or without Direct Input as a selectable option. - GC Related Crash? Running into a really odd bug here. It seems that some parts of the XNA framework stop working right after a GC collection. I've found two cases: Instances of ShaderConstant break after a collection on PC. By break, I mean that the first SetValue following a collection throws an AccesViolationException. I've thrown a simple repro case at the bottom of this post that calls GC.Collect, but note that the same thing happens if you allocate objects each frame and leave them around for the GC to collect at some point (it just takes a while). On the XBOX I get a different crash: I get an InternalDriverException (or whatever it's called - typing from memory here) on the first DrawUserIndexedPrimitives call following a collection (I believe I used to see a similar bug in VertexBuffer.SetData before I switched to user primitives). This doesn't really seem like a bug that should have gotten past QA (I honestly can't see all of XNA history up until now go by without a single garbage collection), so I'm guessing I did something wrong when I installed/downloaded the launcher onto my XBOX - can anyone give me a hint Thanks, Phill #region Using Statements using System; using System . - How to apply an effect to a mesh rendering? No you have to change all of that code because the parameters inside the loop only pertain to BasicEffect. When you are using an Effect, you assign an effect to each mesh part as previously described, then you must set the Effect.CurrentTechnique property to the technique within the effect that you want to use, and you have to set all of the global variables of each effect to appropriate values from within your code. For example: MyModel.Meshes[0].MeshParts[0].Effect.Parameters["WorldViewProj"].SetValue(WorldViewProjection); The above line of code would set the HLSL global variable called WorldViewProj to the value of the variable WorldViewProjection within your XNA game. After setting all of the appropriate effect variables, you would simply call MyModel.Meshes[0].Draw() iterating through each mesh in the Meshes collection and it will draw all the ModelMeshPart objects on each mesh using their associated effect settings. - Driving Game Download??? As long as you have the xbox gamepad hooked up to your pc, you should be able to run the starter kits just fine. The previous starter kit didn't come with any support for keyboard and mouse out of the box, and I could imagine the other starter kits would be the same. Tag: Subscription not available on my Xbox!

I considered not submitting it, but decided I'd worked to hard over the past week to not at least enter it. - Generating Grid With Loops Ah. I took a good look at my code and figured that my problem may be in the drawing code. Sure enough, I was incorrectly calculating the number of lines to draw (d'oh!). - Terrain & Terrain-Physics (intersection, dynamic slicing) Hi, at the moment i am wondering how to deal correctly with a terrain in XNA. For now i just have a static terrain model loaded from file. So i have an object (a buggy for example) and want to get some physics on it, therefore i need to check for collision with the underlying terrain. The collision with the buggy could be done with a boundingbox, but the terrain needs to be checked per face (3 vertices triangle) i think. But i cant find a way to check this. I think iteration throught all faces of the terrain would take to long for all objects in the world. How do other developers solve this problem So if I do it this way i will always need to calculate every object in the world each frame, no mather if its visible or not, is this the correct way I really get crazy about this whole scenario and don't know what ways are right and wrong Also i am confused about slicing of the terrain, a big game world with hundret-thousands of vertices needs a slicing algorithm, but do i automaticly need a dynamic terrain based on a vertex array in XNA How else to slice an existing model Hopefully someone can help me out here Cu Thunder2002 Tag: Subscription not available on my Xbox!

- texture moving on a vertext shader Hello Noobie question here for you. I'm copying the example from the help files in GSE (the example titled: How to create custom texture effects), and have managed to successfully port the cube into my game world (which is a hacked version of the top-down spaceship example that is right at the begining of the help files). I have changed the spaceship example to always keep the spaceship in the middle of the screen, so I can fly around asteroids that I have put into the game, and I've also managed to set a boundary to stop the spaceship flying off in one direction for ever. Now I want to adapt the custom texture effects code to stay in one place while my spaceship flies around it. I did this by updating the custom texture effect "world-view-projection" data with the view of the spaceship during the draw() function. This makes the cube stay in one place, but the texture on the cube moves with the spaceship. What I think is happening is that the tex2D part of the code is using the spaceship view to position the texture on the cube. So when the spaceship moves the texture moves around on the cube. - Pixel Shader 1.1 ok, but if the card does not support pixel shader 1.1 the reference rasterizer will not run neither and i believe that this restriction is not neccesary when you run using it. Restrict the use of the reference rasterizer if your hardware rasterizer doesn't support pixel shader 1.1... i believe that this have no sense; Tag: Subscription not available on my Xbox!

I'm watching the "All Game Downloads" list. For instance, Viva Pinata is there and marked as a new release. But no XNA Creators Club 
. Is "XNA Game Launcher" the same as "XNA Creators Club" If so, no, its not there.

Hmmm, you're in Live Marketplace | Games | All Game Downloads XNA Creator's Club is on my list. The XNA Game Launcher is what's used to deploy games from your PC to your 360, it's not the Creator's Club. Maybe an MS person will chime in here.

From a blog post on the XNA team blog:
- On the Xbox Live blade, go to "Xbox Live Marketplace"
- Select "Games" and then "All Game Downloads"
- Scroll down the list to find the "XNA Creators Club"
- Here you'll be able to go under Memberships to purchase a 4-Mo membership for $49.00 or an Annual (12-mo) membership $99.00. The prices used here reflect the subscription rates for the United States and pricing may differ for your local region or country if outside the USA.
- You'll also need to download the XNA Game Launcher from the same area. Having done so, you will find a new XNA Game Launcher program on your Games blade under Demos and More.

Thanks everyone, but I have read the guides out there. Problem is that there is _no_ "XNA Creators Club" item available. Here is a picture of my TV/Xbox as proof 
Is there any caching of content items locally that perhaps is not updated If so, is there any way to force the dashboard to refresh

You're looking under New Downloads. You need to look under All Game Downloads under the Games section of Live Marketplace.

Actually your problem is that you haven't installed some of the dashboard updates hence the dashboard option where creators club should be. You need to have accepted the dashboard updates that live notifies you about when you log in sometimes.
Install the update and check back with the all games downloads section and XNA should miraculously now be there.

My system version, both Dashboard and Kernel, is 2.0.4548.0. I install every patch that comes out immediately. This version is the november upgrade which included support for XNA Game Studio Express.

Peter you only get the dashboard update showing up in the games downloads if you haven't installed the update. Perhaps you selected no by mistake. Normally the dashboard update is not visible.

I'm willing to bet this is your problem as I have had a similar issue with VGA looking washed out after accidentally refusing a patch. The patch then shows up as a downloadable game. I'm not sure if the patches are cumulative i.e. you only need install the latest one.
