    - In-Game Collision Detection In my simple (very very simple ) doom like game, i created that sliding along walls effect by testing for x plane and z plane (y is up) collision seperately. I moved the player along the x axis, then tested for collision, stored this in a variable, did the same for the z axis (these axis' are world space), and moved the player accordingly. If the x axis was blocked then the player wouldn't move in that direction. likewise for the z axis. If you need some source code to make this clear then let me know - but at 45 lines - it isn't short ! This is probably a slow way of testing for collision, and it only works (at least with this particular method) in games where the walls are grid aligned, but this method works for me.     - Need help - disappearing lines and solids! Hi All, I'm having a big problem drawing lines for a C# application I'm writing. I'm using the DirectX SDK that came with visual studio 2005, directx 9 i presume. My problem is that when I draw triangles using either fillmode.wireframe or fillmode.solid, when I draw the (perspective) camera back too far the triangles disappear completely! The far plane for the camera is set to float.maxvalue. They last a little longer in wireframe mode than in solid mode, but either way is no use to me. What I need is a kind of 'hairline' drawing method, where the lines will always be at least 1 pixel x 1 pixel regardless of how far away they are from the camera... It would be nice to be able to publish the game to see a limited number of User IDs that are not in the creators club (say 10 or so) as a start to testing wider use. I was thinking of this if I were to try and get my nephews into computer programming it would be nice to publish some games for them without the overhead of the creator's club. Also the ability to send the game without source code and with encrypt content is going to needed at some point. What you may mean to say is that the thread affinity functions found for the Xbox in XNA are implemented to do nothing on Windows -- this may be true; I don't really know. A friend of mine wanted to see what I was up to, so I moved the source over to an PC hosted XNA project, and got it running there too. Before I sent the .EXE to him, I double clicked on it, and I just get a message box that says "Application generated an exception that could not be handled." I do run a kind of old card ATI Radeon 9800 Pro+ (@XT) I am having the following problem after heavy debugging: I am drawing different part of the frame. However the graphic processor does not have the time to manage all the data I ask it to handle. So when I draw the next part it has not yet finished to process the precedent data. So I have an interruption on the main processor. The GP is slow enough that I find myself with 90% of my processor time used to manage interruptions.     - Multiuser games? @jackline Yes, lots of people have created C# multiuser environments. Just look up client/server projects over at The Code Project, example (http://www.codeproject.com/cs/media/mdxsnake.asp). Easy, and good for a small number of players. That said... I've seen some MMOG C# projects, but honestly they don't get far off the ground. Mostly because it's hard to get the kind of support you need to make an efficient MMOG system. But also because an MMOG server should never be written in anything other than C/C++ simply because of the amount of data you need to move and info you need to process. One should never say never...but you do lose 15-20% performance moving to C/C++ to C#, possibly more depending on your code, and memory consumption is going to be a lot comparatively speaking. There are few situations where performance must be maxed out, but an MMOG server is most definitely one of them. At least for now, until server hardware becomes so wicked sick that it just doesn't matter. (but don't hold your breath) But don't let me stop you, go for it. Because at the very least you will have learned a great deal about MMOG server design. Having just started some serious dev work on my personal 360 project, the danged box up and "three reds" on me.

How do I go about getting all my stuff i.e. live arcade games, gold membership and more importantly creators club membership onto the new box when it arrives

Has anyone had to do this before and what are the steps needed. I know about having to generate a new code for the link but, this is more about what I need to do to have live recognise the new box as being me etc. etc.

All your accounts (live, xna) are related to your gamer profile so you just need to recover your gamer profile from Your account management section. You'll need to remember your password and profile name thats about it.

I haven't tried this myself, but hopefully all your arcade games are also tied to your gamer profile. You should just be able to re-download them when the new one arrives.

Correct. The Live system knows what you've bought. AFAIK, you can download it again at any time (say you need to free up space for a large demo).
