Believe it or not, this time it's not a question :) I appreciate all the help I've been getting on this forum and I'd like to share some media of my first game. The media was taken from a Windows build but the game is designed for Xbox360.

Thanks,

Remember that when you post a post that is not a question to mark it as a comment, this way they will not affect the answer rate for the group.

There is an interactive tutorial in the game :) It's exclusively for Xbox360 though. I'm releasing the project in less than a week. Although the source will be available, I'm new to C# so it may not be the most responsible thing using it a learning tool, haha, but we have to start somewhere right

Well then i'll just reprogram it to work for the pc (which isn't very hard) since i don't have a Xbox(yet....) or a Creaters thingy.

I looked at the video but couldn't figure it out. I guess if I played the game it might be different.

I didn't make a Windows version because I didn't know how. It's because the game uses both analog controllers for movement and rotation. It also makes use of the analog triggers. Mapping the controls to keyboard and mouse is possible but not really practical. The project was really just a learning tool for me, that morphed, over time, into a working game.

You could have made a Windows verison that uses the 360 controller. Just create a Windows Game project and dump the code into it.

Re: XNA Game Studio Express My XNA Game 'iFACTOR'

Well, yeah, I had to do that to get the screenshot and video right But the whole idea seemed a little 'Frankenstein'ish' if you know what I mean. I know a small percentage of 360 users have 'Creator's Club' but I'm sure fewer still have a 360 controller for PC. Maybe not, it just seemed overly niche to me. Besides, I absolutely love the idea of running a game on my 360 knowing that anyone else who plays it will be having the exact same experience since everyone's Xbox360 is the same.

...then again, isn't there a PC wireless adapter coming out that'll let you use your wireless 360 controllers on your PC

It's something to think about anyway.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but i only just came across this little gem today. Thanks dagfari, i've learnt a lot more about xna just from reading your source. Thankyou for sharing with the community.

@dagfari

Great video. Mind if I ask how you put it together I've tried things like Fraps and an AVI converter with mixed results on the PC (too many nag screens). I'd like to post some footage of my game-in-progress-never-to-be-finished on youtube.

Presumably, you recorded it to DVD or something as your Xbox 360 only

Cheers.

Re: XNA Game Studio Express My XNA Game 'iFACTOR'

I used FRAPS and mixed it using Windows Movie Maker. To capture the video, I compiled a Windows version of the game (I have an Xbox360 controller that works in Windows)

@dagfari

Thanks for the quick response, mate. I'll give it a try.

Cheers.
