Hi there,

Is it possible to manipulate a sprite image at runtime in XNA By manipulate i mean add pixels, remove them and change their colour. I would only want to change the sprite image in memory, not the actual image file itself.

If anyone has an example of this that would be great.

Cheers

DirectX or XNA Adding/removing pixels would require creating a new image regardless. Changing colors could be done using shaders in XNA. If you could say exactly what you're trying to do it would help.

XNA. Well i was thinking of different methods for doing destructible terrain in 2D games (like worms). I wanted to perform it on sprites (or game tiles) rather than doing in on one large image, in the hope it would be faster.

I have seen there is quite a lot of theory but there does not appear to be any XNA implementations, so was just thinking that this might be one possible solution.

Unless anyone knows of any XNA examples for this already

Any comments welcome :-)

Cheers
