I did some tests on the 360's audio console with XACT and the meters do not properly reflect the audio levels. I have a series of test tones in 3dB (peak) intervals and the meters do not reflect them accurately. The level can be lower from one to the next and the meters will show it being louder. It was the same way in an earlier version of XACT and the console as well.

I also have a strange problem where I'll rasise the volume at the SOUND level in XACT by 3dB and the level will increase by 12dB. When I set the volume back to it's original level then the volume is about 9dB from where it started.

For instance:

A SOUND volume setting in XACT is set to -3dB which plays back at -24dB according to the audio console. I change the SOUND volume in XACT to 0dB and the sound plays back at -12dB. I then set the SOUND volume in XACT back to -3dB and then it plays back at -9dB.
